Regency Cigar Emporium is the first to bring you a review of this highly anticipated cigar.
The wrapper on the 702 Series 2000 is silk to the touch with a deep reddish-brown hue. Aside from a few creases, the cigar looks immaculate.
The draw is solid, offering the perfect amount of resistance. You don’t have to fight to get this cigar going.
Slightly crooked, doesn’t affect the draw. The ash is a beautiful shade of silver white and holds to the cigar properly.
The Davidoff 702 Series 2000 starts off Medium bodied, with hints of Oak, Anise, Earth, Cream, and Almonds. It is balanced and smooth, making it easy to navigate the range of flavor this cigar has to offer. Coming into the second third, a prominent note Cognac Grape appears. It is very interesting, as I have never encountered anything like it in a cigar before. There is also a faint Cedar Spice developing in the forefront. The Pepper and Anise pick up as well. Approaching the final third, I pick up on a soft floral note, almost tea like. At the finish, the Cedar has softened into a Honey Graham Cracker sweetness and the Cognac note is still present. All in all, a wonderfully complex cigar that is Rich and Intense, much like the Davidoff Colorado Claro.
