The Eladio Diaz 54th Anniversary has just hit the shelves! The Davidoff Master Selection Series 2007 is the final release in what was exceptional display of craftsmanship. For those of you not familiar with the Master Selection Series, here’s what you need to know. The Master Selection Series is a project based on the personal blends of Eladio Diaz, Master Blender for Davidoff Cigars. Over the years, Diaz would produce one off blends to hand out to his closest friends and family. As you can imagine the blends are very unique in that Diaz has access to all of Davidoff’s rare tobaccos. You will certainly be sampling some of the very best tobacco ever curated.
Just like the previous Master Selections, the 2007 Edition is a generous 6 x 52 Toro limited to only 2100 boxes of 10 cigars. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good! Strength wise, expect a medium to full bodied cigar that is Spicy, Sweet, and Bold. The cigar has perfect balance and just might be the Cigar of the Year.

The Davidoff Master Selection Series 2007 is Rich, Complex, and Decadent. Medium to full in body, the cigar opens up with a powerful burst of spice that dominates the first puffs. After the spice subsides, notes of Earth and Dried Fruit shine through, reminiscent of Charred Oak, Plums, Dry Prosecco, Spiced Nuts, Cinnamon, and Graham Cracker. There is a sweet Tangerine like quality to the aroma, along with Pepper and Spice. The burn is excellent, maintaining an inch of ash securely. The draw is perfect. The retrohale is solid with notes of Dark Chocolate and Spice.
Coming in to the second half, the cigar explores more earthy territory with Cardamine Spice, Iron, Leather, and Wood. Suddenly, the Eladio Diaz 54th Anniversary changes. A Bold Coffee note dominates, with Cream and Chocolate present in the mix. An almost dessert-like finish, just like a Chocolate torte. There is nothing else like this in the humidor right now.
