Davidoff announced the coming rerelease of the Davidoff Robusto intenso back in October and now this extraordinary cigar is finally here and availble. The limited edition Davidoff Robusto Intenso is a complex blend of six different tobaccos aged up to seven years. The original release in 2005 was considered the best limited edition release up until that time and is still considered one of the best, fifteen years later. Making the return of this gem one of the most highly anticipated cigars in Davidoff history. This year, only 4500 boxes have been made and global allocation to retailers sold out quickly. Originally released in 2005 to great accolades, the return will be highly anticipated. About the Cigar, The box is adorned with six stars to represent the complex blend of six vintage tobaccos aged for seven years before being used in this extraordinary cigar. The first star is the Havana-seed filler tobacco, grown in the rich red soil of the land north of San Domingo, which signifies spice and intensity. 3. A Fan Favorite; the Davidoff Colorado Claro

A Fan Favorite; the Davidoff Colorado Claro

Introducing the Davidoff Colorado Claro; a fan and staff favorite at Regency Cigar. This is truly one of the most exceptional cigars in our humidor. What was once a limited release is now available year-round, and for that we are thankful. The cigar is variable in a variety of the most iconic sizes Davidoff has to offer. Sizes include short perfecto, special R, double R and my favorite the No. 3. What makes this cigar so exceptional is the wrapper. The Colorado Claro series features a rare sun-grown Connecticut Ecuador wrapper. The rich reddish colored wrapper is what provides the cigar with its delicious flavor profile. One of my favorite things about the claro is its versatility. It’s a flavorful enough cigar to satisfy a fuller bodied smoker but is smooth enough for a milder to medium bodied smoker to enjoy. This is truly a full-flavored cigar that doesn’t pack a huge nicotine punch. Overall the cigar displays notes of coffee, cedar, chocolate, cream and subtle spice. If you haven’t smoke

Introducing the Davidoff Special 53 Capa Domincana

Regency Cigar is excited to announce the newest edition to our humidor; in the form of the Davidoff Special 53 Capa Dominicana Limited Edition 2020. This cigar was originally released by Davidoff way back in 2002. This cigar was special because at the time it was deemed nearly impossible to grow delicate wrapper leaf in the Dominican. This cigar not only proved it could be done but proved it could be done exceptionally. The cigar is also unique due to its size and format. The cigar is a 53-ring gauge perfecto. This is guaranteed to be one of the most desired and anticipated limited releases we will see this summer. However, the cigar will be extremely limited in quantity with only 4,500 boxes available in the United States.

    Format: 6 1/8 X 53 Perfecto

Binder: San Vincente Seco (Domincan Republic)

  5. A Beginners Guide to Cigar Smoking: Cutting and Lighting A Cigar

    Cutting A Cigar

Regardless of who you are, or what cigar your smoking enjoying a premium hand made cigar always begins with cutting and lighting the cigar. Every individual has his or her own routine when it comes to doing this. However generally it begins with making some type of cut to the cigar in an effort  to remove part of the cap or flag leaf that closes the cigar, while leaving some of it glued around the end to keep the filler leaves together. In my experience it's always better to make a more shallow initial cut, then test the pre-light draw. If the initial cut is too deep the cigar can run the risk of unravelling.  Traditionally three types of cuts are used; a straight cut, punch cut or v-cut. For myself personally, and in my experience the majority of smokers select a straight cut, also known as a guillotine cut. Having a quality and sharp cutter makes this cut much easier and reduces the risk of damaging the cigar. Both Xikar and Colibri make some great tools t
