The Tatuaje Creature Perfecto is the biggest version of the Creature blend Tatuaje has ever released. In fact, it comes in a 6 7/8 x 52 perfecto vitola, a true full-size cigar. Tatuaje built it entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco. Then, My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua handles every step of the rolling. Finally, shipments to retailers began in June 2026.
Tatuaje founder Pete Johnson launched the Monster Series back in 2008 with a cigar called The Frank. Since then, each Monster has taken its name from a classic creature out of literature or film. The series eventually grew into one of the most followed limited-edition lines in the cigar world.
The Creature isn’t one of the official 13 Monster Series releases, but it clearly shares their DNA. In fact, it nods to the 1954 film “Creature from the Black Lagoon.”
This is actually the third time the Creature blend has shipped. Previously, the first two versions only showed up inside samplers, tucked alongside other Monster-style cigars. This time, the Creature finally gets to stand on its own.
As a result, production stays small on purpose. In fact, just 7,000 boxes exist worldwide, and each one holds 10 cigars. That works out to roughly 70,000 cigars for the entire planet. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Every leaf in this blend comes from Nicaragua, wrapper through filler. As a result, that all-Nicaraguan makeup tends to deliver real depth and plenty of spice.
Tatuaje built its name on cigars that sell out fast, and this one is no different. In fact, Pete Johnson has a track record of turning small allocated drops into the cigars everyone talks about a year later.
