Making the return of this gem one of the most highly anticipated cigars in Davidoff history. This year, only 4500 boxes have been made and global allocation to retailers sold out quickly. 3. A Fan Favorite; the Davidoff Colorado Claro

A Fan Favorite; the Davidoff Colorado Claro

Introducing the Davidoff Colorado Claro; a fan and staff favorite at Regency Cigar. This is truly one of the most exceptional cigars in our humidor. What was once a limited release is now available year-round, and for that we are thankful. The cigar is variable in a variety of the most iconic sizes Davidoff has to offer. Sizes include short perfecto, special R, double R and my favorite the No. 3. What makes this cigar so exceptional is the wrapper. The Colorado Claro series features a rare sun-grown Connecticut Ecuador wrapper. The rich reddish colored wrapper is what provides the cigar with its delicious flavor profile. One of my favorite things about the claro is its versatility. It’s a flavorful enough cigar to satisfy a fuller bodied smoker but is smooth enough for a milder to medium bodied smoker to enjoy. This is truly a full-flavored cigar that doesn’t pack a huge nicotine punch. Overall the cigar displays notes of coffee, cedar, chocolate, cream and subtle spice. If you haven’t smoke

Regency Cigar is excited to announce the newest edition to our humidor; in the form of the Davidoff Special 53 Capa Dominicana Limited Edition 2020. This cigar was originally released by Davidoff way back in 2002. This cigar was special because at the time it was deemed nearly impossible to grow delicate wrapper leaf in the Dominican. This cigar not only proved it could be done but proved it could be done exceptionally. The cigar is also unique due to its size and format. The cigar is a 53-ring gauge perfecto. This is guaranteed to be one of the most desired and anticipated limited releases we will see this summer. However, the cigar will be extremely limited in quantity with only 4,500 boxes available in the United States.

  5. A Beginners Guide to Cigar Smoking: Cutting and Lighting A Cigar

    Cutting A Cigar

Regardless of who you are, or what cigar your smoking enjoying a premium hand made cigar always begins with cutting and lighting the cigar. Every individual has his or her own routine when it comes to doing this. However generally it begins with making some type of cut to the cigar in an effort  to remove part of the cap or flag leaf that closes the cigar, while leaving some of it glued around the end to keep the filler leaves together. In my experience it's always better to make a more shallow initial cut, then test the pre-light draw. If the initial cut is too deep the cigar can run the risk of unravelling.  Traditionally three types of cuts are used; a straight cut, punch cut or v-cut. For myself personally, and in my experience the majority of smokers select a straight cut, also known as a guillotine cut. Having a quality and sharp cutter makes this cut much easier and reduces the risk of damaging t

A Beginners Guide to Cigar Smoking: What Goes Into Making A Premium Cigar

I'm guessing if you're reading this article you most likely enjoy smoking premium cigars, but do you know what the process of making one looks like? Many of us enjoy the luxury that comes along with smoking a premium hand made cigar; however very few know the effort that goes into making the cigars. Making premium cigars like Padron, Davidoff, and Ashton can be  an extremely labor intensive process that can take several years, to go from seed to shelf. The purpose of this article will be to better acquaint ourselves with the process, and hopefully provide a new appreciation for the product we love.

Every cigar begins with a seed. The seed itself is extremely small, its equivalent to roughly the size of a candy sprinkle.Just a bottle cap full of seeds is capable of planting an entire row of crops. The seeds are first transformed into seedlings, this takes about 60 days. Once they become seedlings they can be planted in

Introducing the Newest Davidoff Vault Release the Exquisite Toro

The Davidoff Vault program which began in 2018, is a place where cigar aficionados can go to visit, or reacquaint themselves with factory reserves, vintage classics, and private and rare collections; these are cigars you won’t find anywhere else and are only offered in limited quantities. The newest release from the Vault is the Davidoff Exquisite a 6 x 52 toro. The Exquisite is unique because Master Blender Eladio Diaz chooses this cigar as one of his favorites to end his day. As a result he has aimed to create an exquisite smoking experience that he can pair with some of his favorite whiskeys that provide complementary flavors. The cigar is meticulously blended with a variety of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic; including a Dominican wrapper from the Yamasa region, which has become a favorite for many. The cigar begins with spicy & sweet creaminess, cinnamon spice, oak wood and dark cocoa. The retro-hale is spicy with medium-strength. As the cigar builds notes of wood and c

  9. The Davidoff Escurio

    The Davidoff Escurio

In the year 2015 Davidoff released its second installment into what is known as the “black- label series” of cigars. The cigar in question was called the Escurio. The “black- label series” was groundbreaking for Davidoff; in the way that it used exotic tobaccos sourced outside of the Dominican. The success of this series has shaped the Davidoff portfolio into what it is today. Prior to the black-label series of cigars Davidoff had been known as a brand that focused on lighter blends, with a focus on dominican tobaccos. The success of blends like the Escurio, changed that perception forever. The Escurio blend is one of my personal favorites, and is somewhat of an underrated blend in the Davidoff portfolio.

When we think of traditional tobacco producing countries, we typically think of two countries; the Dominican and Nicaragua. The Escurio shines a spotlight on a lesser known tobacco producer; Brazil. The cigar features a Brazilian binder, as well as composing the majority of the
