Wrapper: Ecuadorian Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan (Esteli Seco Cask Aged (Rum) / Esteli Semilla B Visus / Esteli Semilla A Ligero / Jalapa Visus / Condega Seco)
The limited-edition gran toro cigar, reminiscent of the existing Nicaragua blend, reaches new heights in flavor and delivers an unparalleled, intense experience. Davidoff's Master Blenders embarked on innovative paths to achieve unprecedented tastes. To commemorate the anniversary, they placed significant emphasis on aging the tobaccos for this cigar: The wrapper, binder, and filler tobaccos boast a combined age of 45 years. Another notable feature of the gran toro is the Estelà seco filler tobacco, which underwent a unique six-month aging process in rum casks—a first for Davidoff. This results in a remarkable depth and complexity that is easily discernible.
Initially, the complex flavors of nuts bring delight when experiencing the gran toro. Its Nicaraguan filler tobaccos contribute fresh spice and leather undertones. The exceptional age of the tobaccos creates a noticeable balance throughout the entire smoking experience. In the second part, the gradually diminishing spiciness gives way to more intense flavors of oak wood, milk coffee, and a captivating hint of eucalyptus. Throughout this evolution, the gran toro maintains its full-bodied profile magnificently. As the cigar nears its end, the intensity ramps up once again, transforming the previous milk coffee notes into those of black coffee. Fresh herb aromas blend with the ever-present toasting flavors, creating a masterpiece that indulges aficionados for a satisfying 60 to 70 minutes.
