LeRoy Neiman, a renowned American artist, achieved fame for his expressive and vividly colored paintings depicting sports figures, events, musicians, and celebrities. Notably, he had a strong affinity for cigars, often indulging in his passion while creating art. In homage to Neiman's dual love for painting and cigars, the J.C. Newman Cigar Co. collaborated with the LeRoy Neiman and the Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation to introduce the LeRoy Neiman 2023 Collector's Edition cigar.
This limited-edition toro showcases a stunning Havana Rosado wrapper, meticulously paired with a Florida Sun Grown binder and aged filler leaves sourced from Nicaragua and the USA. Handcrafted with expertise, these cigars are produced at the historic El Reloj cigar factory, owned by J.C. Newman, in Tampa, Florida. The cigars feature a specially designed band, and the box interior displays an authentic lithograph of Neiman's 1978 painting, the "Irish-American Bar." The bottom of each box offers a print capturing the paint-splattered floor of Neiman's New York City apartment.
Importantly, all proceeds generated from the cigar sales will be dedicated to supporting arts education in public schools in Tampa, Florida. This initiative not only pays tribute to LeRoy Neiman's artistic legacy but also contributes to the enrichment of arts education in the community.
