Next, rollers paired it with a dark San Andrés binder. Then, they built a core like no other: Criollo 98 ligero and seco from Mao, Dominican Republic—its first appearance in any Cohiba—blended with San Andrés and Vuelta Abajo visos. Because each leaf rests under cedar for years, the cigar lights in one toast and burns arrow-straight.
Instead of a standard box, Spectre arrives in a cylindrical wood vault that opens like a theatre curtain. Inside, ten brushed-metal tubes stand at attention, each holding a humidity pack to keep the toro pristine. At the centre sits a custom travel humidor—ready for jet-set tasting sessions.
Opening draws greet the palate with sweet cedar and dried fig. Soon, dark cocoa and espresso flow through dense smoke, while a ribbon of black pepper brightens the finish. Midway, honey and toasted almond appear, nudging body toward medium-full without harshness. Finally, leather and oak linger long after the band, closing a 90-minute session that feels smooth yet bold.
