The Ashton Symmetry was originally released all the way back in 2014 and has truthfully been one of my favorite cigars over the last six years. As many of us know Ashton doesn't like to rush new blends out unless they are perfected and fit a need in their cigar portfolio. The Symmetry was no exception to this rule. Prior to its 2014 release Ashton had not released a new cigar since the ESG in 2006.The cigar was meticulously blended by the Fuentes and produced at the Tabacalera A. Fuente y. Cia. in the Dominican. The Symmetry marked the first time the Fuente family blended a cigar that utilized Nicaraguan tobacco. I also feel that the Symmetry fit perfectly in their portfolio of offerings as a bridge between some of their lighter offerings and the ESG/VSG lines. The cigar for me is a true medium bodied that is packed with full flavors.

Size Smoked: Prestige: 6.75 x 49

On the cold draw the cigar hints at notes of earth, coffee and spice. Visually the cigar looks stunning with its meticulously rolled wrapper leaf and golden brown complexion. As I light the cigar I'm greeted right off the bat with some pepper. However within a few puffs a myriad of complementing flavors join the party. These include notes of coffee, cedar and cream. As the cigar progresses past the halfway point the body and overall abundance of flavor ramps up. At this point the cigar is a touch over medium in body. With an undertone of earth and a slight floral component joining the overall profile. Overall the cigar burns to perfection which has come to be expected from a brand with the quality control like Ashton. Overall, The Symmetry is a medium bodied, full flavored smoke that can be enjoyed by any smoker.
