  1. God of Fire Series B Wrapper Selection

God of Fire Series B Wrapper Selection

The God of Fire Series B would be considered the boldest of the God of Fire cigars. It's also unique because it utilizes different wrappers throughout the line.Depending on the size you choose, the Domican fillers and binders will be covered with either an Ecuadorian Sun Grown, or a dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Many cigar smokers don't realize this is the case with the series B. The Double Robusto and Gran Toro features the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The Robusto and Robusto Gordo features the Ecuadorian wrapper. The Ecuadorian wrapper offers the palate bold, rich and complex notes of leather, pepper, tobacco sweetness, earth, and finally coffee. On the other hand the Broadleaf wrapper offers some of the same flavors like sweetness and spice it also offers notes of cocoa, cashew, and dried fruit. Regardless of which wrapper you reach for you can expect an exceptionally smooth, flavorful and complex cigar; coming in at medium to full in body.

Tatuaje Cojonu 2012: The Cigar With Three Wrappers

The Tatuaje Cojonu series of cigars is comprised of 5 vintage blends, that have been created with the fuller bodied cigar conscious in mind.Pronounced Koh-ho-NU, the term is Cuban slang for someone who is brash or ballsy. However for this post we will look more closely at the Cojonu 2012. The most unique aspect of the Cojonu 2012 is that its offered in not one, not two, but three different wrappers. These beautiful 6.5 X 52 boxed pressed cigars offered in a Habano, Sumatra and Broadleaf wrappers. Each of the unique wrapper leafs are draped over the same Nicaraguan binders and fillers. I personally enjoy when manufacturers release the same blends with a variation of its wrapper leaf. It's a great opportunity for us as cigar smokers to see just how different wrapper varieties affect the smoking experience of a cigar. Regardless of the wrapper the Cojonu 2012 will boast a fuller bodied smoking experience featuring notes of pepper, earth and chocolate. With each wrapper adding to or enhancing

  4. The Impact of Cigar Wrapper Leaf

The Impact of Cigar Wrapper Leaf

As we all know cigars are essentially composed of three main components. A wrapper leaf, binder leaf and filler tobacco. Within the cigar community a debate has raged as to which of these components have the greatest impact on a cigars profile. I tend to be in the camp that believes that the wrapper has a dramatic impact on a cigars overall smoking profile. Some wrapper leaves such as CT shade provide a cigar with mellow, creamy and nuanced flavors. While other wrappers like a Sumatran provide Nicaraguan provide much more body to the cigar. They also introduce flavors like sweetness, earth and leather.

One way to test the impact of a cigars wrapper leaf is provided to us by none other than Davidoff. The iconic No. 3 size features Dominican binders and fillers. However Davidoff offers these cigars in different lines; featuring different wrapper leafs. The Davidoff Annivesario No.3 would be considered to be the original. The cigar features a Ecuador Connecticut wrapper. The Davidoff
