Davidoff Nicaragua 10th Anniversary Arriving Soon

In 2013, Davidoff Cigars introduced the Nicaragua line, urging cigar enthusiasts to discover a broader range of flavors. This particular line marked a novelty for the brand as it was the first Davidoff cigar to feature a black band. With the White Band Collection known for its refined and milder Dominican blends, the company aimed to cater to those seeking a more intense and diverse palate experience. Therefore, they embarked on a journey to expand their portfolio by sourcing tobaccos cultivated in varied conditions. Ultimately, they found what they were seeking in the volcanic soil of Nicaragua.

The limited-edition gran toro cigar, reminiscent of the existing Nicaragua blend, elevates the taste experience to extraordinary levels. Davidoff's Master Blenders embarked on a quest to discover new avenues and achieve unprecedented flavors. In celebration of the anniversary, they placed special emphasis on aging the tobaccos for this cigar: The wrapper, binder, and filler tobaccos combined boast an impressive 45-year age. Additionally, the gran toro showcases a unique aspect with the Estelí seco filler tobacco, which underwent a full 6-month aging process in rum casks – a first for Davidoff. This meticulous craftsmanship results in a profound depth and remarkable complexity.

Tasting Notes:

The grand toro cigar offers an initial pleasure with intricate nutty flavors. The addition of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos brings forth hints of refreshing spice and leather. Thanks to the remarkable aging of the tobaccos, a distinct sense of harmony permeates the entire experience. As the cigar progresses into the second third, the fading spiciness gives way to heightened notes of oak wood, creamy coffee, and a captivating essence of eucalyptus. Throughout this transformation, the grand toro retains its impressive full-bodied character flawlessly.
