Davidoff Winston Churchill Overview
Way back in 2007, Davidoff unveiled the Winston Churchill, a line of cigars that was introduced as a tribute to Sir Winston Churchill. The original line used a Ecuadorian sun-grown wrapper along with binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. After deciding that a complete makeover of the line was needed, Davidoff unveiled the new version in 2014. The entire line was re-blended and built from the ground up and has cemented itself as core part of the Davidoff White Label family The blend features an Ecuadorian Rojiza wrapper and a Mexican San Andrés binder, along with five filler tobaccos: piloto mejorado seco, piloto seco and a hybrid olor/piloto seco from the Dominican Republic and seco from Condega and Estelí in Nicaragua. Four sizes are offered in the line including a Toro,Churchill,Robusto and Petit Corona. The Winston Churchill line is probably my favorite cigar to hand to smokers who are new to Davidoff. Not only does it provide great value but it offers quality and complexity. I get an abundance of earth, coffee, and a rich nuttiness from this cigar. The cigar also provides a rich creaminess and a subtle spice that presents itself primarily on the retrohale. As the cigar progresses notes of cocoa and leather enter the fray. This creates both complexity and balance for this cigar. One of my favorite things about this cigar is its abundance of flavor; while maintaining a medium body when it comes to strength. Anyone can smoke and enjoy this cigar to its full potential
