At the turn of the century, El Septimo embarked on a lifelong mission: to break free from the constraints of traditional practices that hindered the quality of the world's most prominent brands. Instead, they aspired to offer consumers something novel: the finest cigars globally, crafted by cigar connoisseurs and master blenders.
Driven by dissatisfaction with lackluster flavors, premature stocks, subpar manufacturing, insufficient attention to detail and quality control, as well as the declining standards of Cuban crops, the El Septimo team chose to start anew.
Their first undertaking was to procure the finest raw materials, specifically the perfect tobacco leaf. Given the escalating global demand for cigars, conventional brands had already depleted the soil and wreaked havoc on the available stocks. Thus, the search for new fertile land became urgent.
After years of thorough research and exploration of arable lands worldwide, the El Septimo team concluded that they needed to establish their own supply by blending the best tobacco from superior fields throughout Latin America. This approach allowed them to create the flawless recipe they had envisioned. The perfect location for planting and aging their exquisite seeds was eventually found in the lush mountains of San Jose, Costa Rica.
El Septimo Cigars offer a diverse range of more than 40 blends, all hand-rolled with 100% long filler tobacco using the traditional Entubar Method. The manufacturing process includes rigorous quality control measures to ensure excellence. The wrappers are cultivated in a high-altitude proprietary process, resulting in cigars with a smooth texture, deep shade, and flavorful leaf.
The collections vary in terms of tobacco leaf blends, age of tobacco, and the number of fillers used. They incorporate tobacco aged between seven and fifteen years and utilize three to five fillers. Notably, El Septimo Cigars are entirely organic, devoid of preservatives or chemicals, and they are free from nitrosamines, tars, and impurities.
