General Cigar is teaming up with one of the most sought after and popular bourbons on the market to create a truly unique cigar. This is actually the second time the two have collaborated. collaboration with the Weller bourbon brand; using spent barrels that previously held Weller bourbon to age tobaccos.The Weller by Cohiba is a 6 x 50 toro that comes presented in a eye-catching tube and a 10 count box. The blend uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper draped over Connecticut broadleaf binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic. The blend also incorporates tobaccos from Estelí, Nicaragua and three regions in Honduras: Jamastran, La Entrada and Olancho San Agustin.The Connecticut broadleaf binder is barrel-aged in spent Weller twelve year bourbon barrels for an undisclosed amount of time. According to Cohiba “In allowing the binder leaf to age in bourbon barrels, we have added another dimension to the smoking experience which offers rich notes of cedar, honey and a subtle spice.
