Arturo Fuente Cigars

  1. Don Carlos By Arturo Fuente

    Don Carlos By Arturo Fuente

One of my all time favorite cigars from the Fuente factory is undoubtedly the Don Carlos line of cigars. The line gets its name from the company's patriarch and founder Don Carlos Fuente Sr. When a cigar is named after the company's founder you can expect something exceptional and that's absolutely the case here. The cigar actually has a long history dating all the way back to 1976 and the early days of the brand. Unfortunately the cigar disappeared from the market when the family lost everything when the Sandinistas ransacked the country burning everything in their path; including the Fuente factory. Luckily for us the company and family persevered and the line was reintroduced in 1986. Originally only available in two sizes robusto and No.3. Later a variety of sizes had been introduced including the Presidente, No.2, Double Robusto and No.4.

  2. God of Fire Series B Wrapper Selection

God of Fire Series B Wrapper Selection

The God of Fire Series B would be considered the boldest of the God of Fire cigars. It's also unique because it utilizes different wrappers throughout the line.Depending on the size you choose, the Domican fillers and binders will be covered with either an Ecuadorian Sun Grown, or a dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Many cigar smokers don't realize this is the case with the series B. The Double Robusto and Gran Toro features the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The Robusto and Robusto Gordo features the Ecuadorian wrapper. The Ecuadorian wrapper offers the palate bold, rich and complex notes of leather, pepper, tobacco sweetness, earth, and finally coffee. On the other hand the Broadleaf wrapper offers some of the same flavors like sweetness and spice it also offers notes of cocoa, cashew, and dried fruit. Regardless of which wrapper you reach for you can expect an exceptionally smooth, flavorful and complex cigar; coming in at medium to full in body.

Don Carlos Edición de Aniversario; Cigar Overview

Back in 2006 Prometheus released the first of the Don Carlos Edición de Aniversario. The line was created and specifically blended to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Don Carlos line of cigars. The cigars share many similarities; aside from the wrapper leaf. The wrapper leaf on the regular Don Carlos line is a Cameroon wrapper. The wrapper on the Don Carlos Edición de Aniversario is said to be the same wrapper used on the world renowned Opus X. This wrapper adds a tremendous amount of flavor, complexity and strength to the blend. These fantastic cigars can be difficult to find and scarce in numbers. As a result we feel fortunate to be able to offer such a special cigar to our customers.

Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Overview and Review

The cigar was originally crafted to pay homage to the brands creator and family patriarch Carlos Fuente Sr. The cigar utilizes a variety of rare and aged tobaccos, but what makes this cigar truly stand out is its wrapper. The Don Cralos features a delicate and rich African Cameroon wrapper. This wrapper is truly unique due to the fact that it tends to be quite expensive, rough in appearance and temperamental during the fermentation process. Luckily for us Funte has found a way to utilize this wrapper to perfection. Wrapper: African Cameroon Binder: Dominican Filler: Dominica Tasting Notes: The cigar hits the ground running right from the initial light, featuring notes of cedar, roasted coffee and a touch of leather. As the cigar progresses the flavors ramp up approaching a solid medium body. The cigar also introduces flavors of raisin, earth and a touch of chocolate. The flavors stay very consistent through the final third, which is a great thing in this case. The cigar lacks
