AVO Improvisation 2022 Review (Maduro)

The AVO brand over the past decade has released an annual limited edition called the AVO Improvisation. The intention of this release was always to honor the birthday of the brand’s late founder, Avo Uvezian. Avo was a composer who had a passion for life. For him a life that was filled with music and seizing opportunities whenever possible to create rich, noteworthy experiences for all to celebrate. This year's release marks the 10th and final release in the Improvisation line to commemorate this special and iconic milestone. This year was extremely unique because they offered the cigar in 22 count boxes featuring 11 maduro and 11 natural cigars. This was done to pay homage to Avo Uvezian and the black and white keys of a piano.

This years cigar comes in a 5 X 55 Robusto format and for our purposes is dropped in a rich and chocolatey Ecuadorian maduro wrapper. This beatufial leaf is dropped over a Mexican binder and both Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. As the cigar begins it offers rich notes of leather, oak and coffee. The cigar also adds a subtle sweetness and touch of spic on the reteohale. As the cigar begins to warm up past the hallway mark the pepper becomes more present as well as a dominant earth/oaky flavor. Overall this cigar provides a ton of flavor and depth. This cigar overall proved a ton of deep flavors in a medium to full package. It also by my estimation has a ton of aging potential. I think this was a great way for the brand to finish this series and can't wait to try the natural wrapper so stay tuned.
