    Regardless of who you are, or what cigar your smoking enjoying a premium hand made cigar always begins with cutting and lighting the cigar. Every individual has his or her own routine when it comes to doing this. However generally it begins with making some type of cut to the cigar in an effort  to remove part of the cap or flag leaf that closes the cigar, while leaving some of it glued around the end to keep the filler leaves together. In my experience it's always better to make a more shallow initial cut, then test the pre-light draw. If the initial cut is too deep the cigar can run the risk of unravelling.  Traditionally three types of cuts are used; a straight cut, punch cut or v-cut. For myself personally, and in my experience the majority of smokers select a straight cut, also known as a guillotine cut.     The Tatuaje Escasos

    One of the newest edition to the Tatuaje line up of cigars is the Escasos,which means rare. This a cigar that has been in the works for the better part of a decade. This line by Pete Johnson is unique and special for a few reasons. Firstly, all of the tobacco used for Escasos would be of a Havana-seed origin and secondly, all of the cigars would be produced in Miami. The Escasos line allowed Johnson to release unique, experimental and limited production product out of the Miami facility. As it currently exists the Escasos line features the six original sizes of the Selección de Cazador line, more commonly referred to as the Brown Label. The cigars feature an Ecuadorian grown Habano wrapper leaf; over Nicaraguan binder and filler. These cigars will be very limited in quantity with small amounts of boxes, released occasionally.     The Ashton Estate Sun Grown

    The Ashton Estate Sun Grown (ESG) was originally conceived in 2005 to celebrate Ashtons 20th anniversary. This cigar is a unique collaboration between between Carlos Fuente Jr. and Ashton to celebrate the anniversary.Probably the thing that makes this cigar so special is the fact that it uses wrapper leaf from Chateau de la Fuente. This is the Fuente family farm where the Fuente Fuente OpusX wrapper tobacco is grown; It was produced at the Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia factory. Over the next 5 years ashton released an addition size to the line. Given the special nature and rarity of the tobacco used these cigars can be limited and more difficult to find.

    The Zino Platinum Z- Crown line of cigars was originally released in the year 2017. The cigars were released in two sizes; with each size featuring its own unique blend of tobaccos.     The Padron 1964 Anniversary Line

    The Padron 1964 Anniversary line of cigars was introduced in 1994, to commemorate the companies 30th anniversary. Many will argue that the 1964 was the blend that put Padron on the map; catapulting them to where they are today. Today Padron is one of the most recognizable, and awarded brands in the industry. The tobacco for the 1964 Anniversary is aged at least four years and is rolled, then boxed pressed to honor the age-old Cuban tradition of box pressing cigars. Each size within the line is blended as a Nicaraguan puro, and is offered with either a sungrown, or maduro wrapper leaf.

     The Arturo Fuente Opus X Lost City; a phenomenal cigar, with a unique origin story. The cigars origin is intertwined with the bright lights of Hollywood. In early 2004 production of the movie The Lost City began; featuring the actor/ director Andy Garcia. The film focuses on a family attempting to navigate the pitfalls of life during the Castro revolution on the island of Cuba. The film was set to be shot in the Dominican Republic. During an early location scout, Garcia was introduced to Carlito Fuente. The two hit it off, and the Fuente family and the Chateau de la Fuente became an integral part of the production of the film.
