  1. Tatuaje Cigars Adding Luxury To Its Escasos Line

Tatuaje Cigars Adding Luxury To Its Escasos Line

Tatuaje is adding some luxury to its already popular Escasos line in the form of four new sizes. The word Escasos translates to scarce or rare from Spanish—and as its meaning suggests, is made up of extremely limited cigars rolled at the El Rey de Los Habanos factory located in Miami. Rumors of these new sizes have been swirling around the industry since early 2013. The four “luxury” sizes include Tatuaje Petite Église (5 x 50), Tatuaje Clos L’Église (5 x 52), Tatuaje Gran Cazador (8 x 52), Tatuaje Gran Tatuaje (9 x 55). These cigars are without question the highest end and most meticulously crafted cigars Pete Johnson has ever released. Johnson has stated that only a handful of select rollers are allowed to roll these cigars. With only one roller producing the Gran Tatuaje vitola. All of these rollers have been rolling tatuaje cigars since the brand's inception. Visually the cigars are beautiful and come in individual coffins. To say we can't wait to smoke some of these cigars would be

Tatuaje Cojonu 2012: The Cigar With Three Wrappers

The Tatuaje Cojonu series of cigars is comprised of 5 vintage blends, that have been created with the fuller bodied cigar conscious in mind.Pronounced Koh-ho-NU, the term is Cuban slang for someone who is brash or ballsy. However for this post we will look more closely at the Cojonu 2012. The most unique aspect of the Cojonu 2012 is that its offered in not one, not two, but three different wrappers. These beautiful 6.5 X 52 boxed pressed cigars offered in a Habano, Sumatra and Broadleaf wrappers. Each of the unique wrapper leafs are draped over the same Nicaraguan binders and fillers. I personally enjoy when manufacturers release the same blends with a variation of its wrapper leaf. It's a great opportunity for us as cigar smokers to see just how different wrapper varieties affect the smoking experience of a cigar. Regardless of the wrapper the Cojonu 2012 will boast a fuller bodied smoking experience featuring notes of pepper, earth and chocolate. With each wrapper adding to or enhancing

October is known primarily for one thing in the cigar world; a highly anticipated release from Tatuaje and Pete Johnson. True to form Pete Johnson has another October release slated for 2020. This years release called the Karloff is expected to ship sometime in early to mid October. The cigar is in fact an extension of his monster series of the cigars, that began way back in 2008. The Karloff is directly inspired by the previous releases of the Boris and Little Boris. The Karloff is a tweaked version of those blends. Johnson is producing 4,000 dress boxes of 13 cigars. Beyond that not much is known about the cigar. We look forward to doing a more detailed review when they arrive; so stay tuned.

The 2019 Tatuaje Monsters; Featuring the Chuck and Tiff

In 2008 Pete Johnson of Tatuaje Cigars released his first cigar in his 13 cigar monster series with the Frank. Now in 2019 we see that series coming to a close with the release of the 12th and 13th cigar. Each year since 2008 Tatuaje Cigars has released a different Halloween inspired cigar based on a fictional monster. In the past, the series has featured monsters such as Frankenstein, the Wolfman, and Dracula. This year's monsters are based on the horror franchise Childs Play, and features the Chuck and Tiff. For each Monster in the series a dress box is created for the cigars, wooden boxes of 13 that are designed to look like coffins and then decorated to mimic the monster they are named after. These dress boxes are extremely rare and are highly desired by Tatuaje fans and collectors.

Each year a select list a 13 retailers are selected to receive the majority of these dress boxes; this list has become known as the “Unlucky 13” . This year Johnson decided that rather than doing an

Introducing, the newest release from Pete Johnson of Tatuaje; the ME II. The cigars unlike the original ME release; that was packaged in a bundle format will be offered in 15 count boxes.

    Smoking Experience:

The cigar begins by featuring rich notes of dark chocolate, earth, oak, and a subtle spice. As the cigar continues to burn the flavors ramp up in intensity; while maintaining a very consistent profile. The flavors are especially prevalent on the retohale of this particular cigar. Overall the cigar performed extremely well; providing rich flavors, in a medium bodied format.
